This is the EPA and Kansas Renovation Repair and Painting (Lead Safety training for Contractors) for those working in pre-1978 properties. In one 8-hour class, the attendee will receive dual certification for EPA and Kansas. This class will be conducted by GlyNite Construction Environmental Services.
This renovator lead safety course is necessary to ensure that individuals working in the renovation or remodeling industry are trained to properly handle lead-based paint. Lead-based paint was commonly used in homes built before 1978 and can pose a significant health risk, particularly to children and pregnant women.
During renovations or remodeling, the disturbance of lead-based paint can create hazardous lead dust, which can be inhaled or ingested by workers and residents of the building. A renovator lead safety course provides training on how to properly contain and clean up lead dust, as well as how to safely work around lead-based paint without causing unnecessary exposure.
In addition to protecting the health and safety of workers and building occupants, renovator lead safety courses are often required by law for those working in the renovation or remodeling industry. Failure to comply with lead safety regulations can result in fines and legal liability.
A 4-hour refresher course will be offered in the later half of the day, from 1-4, in which previously EPA certified persons can take prior to the expiration of their current certification.
